The Former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Dr Vincent Hungwe and the Deputy Chief Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza have been sworn in as members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) at a brief ceremony held at State House in Harare this Thursday morning.
Dr Hungwe is now the Chairperson of the Public Service Commissions after replacing Dr Mariyawanda Nzuwah who retired in March this year.
The appointment has been made in terms of section 202 (1)(a) of the constitution.
Before Dr Hungwe’s appointment, Dr Margaret Muchada was Acting Chairperson.
Dr Hungwe has worked as the Technical Advisor – Local Economic Development at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Southern and Eastern Africa.
He had joined the UN body in 2010.
Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza also took her oath of loyalty and of office as a member of the JSC, adding another feather in her cap in her illustrious career.
