The government says the era of knowledge that does not serve citizens’ needs nor provide solutions to the economy is over.
On his tour of the Midlands State University (MSU) Zvishavane campus today, the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Professor Ammon Murwira challenged institutions of higher learning to translate knowledge into practical solutions.
MSU Acting Director for the Zvishavane campus, Professor Advice Viriri acknowledged the gaps that institutions of higher learning must fill in national development aspirations.
On his tour, Minister Murwira was appraised of different programmes the institution has.
Having taken over former Shabanie Mine facilities and converting them to university facilities, the campus has in its programmes emphasising on mining engineering as one of its core study and research areas.
