Stubelihle Ndlovu was crowned Miss Gokwe 2018 at a colourful ceremony held at Cheziya Hall in Gokwe.

Ndlovu shrugged off competition from twelve other girls to land the coveted Miss Gokwe title.

Gokwe town came to life when a bevy of beauties took to the ramp to battle for the coveted Miss Gokwe 2018 crown.

Drawn from rural Gokwe, the girls strutted on the ramp in their colourful outfits to win the hearts of the adjudicators.

For her victory,  she was awarded $2 000 prize money while the first princess won $1 000.

Ndlovu promised to represent her rural home well and to expose the abundant talent in Gokwe.

Miss World Zimbabwe 2017 first princess, Evelyn Njelele who organised the colourful event said she initiated the pageant because of her passion to uplift Gokwe community and support girls from her rural home to kick start their modelling careers.

During the question and answer session, the girls exuded much confidence and gave intriguing answers though stage fright got the better of some who walked away from the gruelling questions.

Chief Njelele and his wife graced the occasion in support of the girl child and urged parents to rally behind their children and to shun early marriages.

One would be forgiven to think that the glittering event was in Bulawayo or Harare not at Cheziya Hall as it had all the glamour associated with beauty pageants.

The vintage outfits took many ladies down memory lane as the models pulled a show stopper in the golden oldies fashion statement.

Musician Andy Muridzo placed the icing on the cake to the event serenading the audience with his fine performance with Gweru’s DJ Blesh also showing his skill on the deck.
