welshman ncube 09-02-11.jpgProfessor Welshman Ncube of the MDC has described the refusal by Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara to cede power to the new leader as a major betrayal of the party’s democratic principles that were espoused during the MDC congress recently.

In his address to MDC supporters in Garanyemba Ward 13 about 30km South of Gwanda town, Professor  Ncube said the decisions made by Mutambara as the supposed principal, do not bind MDC as a party.

He described Professor Mutambara’s actions to hold on to power after being ousted at the party’s congress, as a major betrayal of trust, ideals and principles of the MDC.

On the issue of elections, Professor Ncube said the MDC is ready to run the race if held under free and fair conditions.
