With the festive season around the corner, the national blood bank is expecting a boost from the availability of school children who contribute over 80% of blood.

With good response from the youths who are part of the Pledge 25 Club (P25), coordinators of the national blood donors’ month are optimistic the target of 5 000 units can be achieved.

The youths who thronged the event also expressed excitement at the prospects of saving lives and pledged to continue supporting the noble venture.

The festive season is normally characterized by accidents and the National Blood Services of Zimbabwe is trying to boost blood stocks ahead of that period.
