The National Youth and Paralympic Games which were scheduled for Midlands Province from the 15th to the 25th of this month have been postponed to December.

In a statement to the ZBC News, Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Acting Director General Joseph Muchechetere said the games were postponed after a typhoid outbreak in Gweru adding that action has been taken to avoid putting the  lives of athletes and officials at risk.

Muchechetere added that all provincial teams in camp are advised to decamp as a matter of urgency to avoid incurring further costs.

The SRC boss, however, said resource mobilisation to support the games will go on until the games are held in December.
