Preparations are underway for the National Schools Quiz Competition scheduled for end of May in Harare.
The completion is aimed at empowering young people with Afro-centric knowledge and creating a platform for learning.
Schools from all the country’s ten provinces commenced the new season of the National Quiz Competition at provincial level.
This is in preparation of the final National Quiz Competition to be held on the 25th of May in the capital.
Schools will battle it out at provincial level where the final four will represent the province at the final competition.
Organisers of the quiz competition said the event which is sponsored by Old Mutual this year will offer an opportunity for children to share African knowledge and empower participants with African history knowledge.
The main aim is to create a platform of interaction and learning of the African history.
Zimbabwe is among other countries that participate in the school quiz.
The final competitions will be held in harare on the 25th of May with four schools representing each province.
Last year, the winners emerged from Manicaland.
