The country today remembers one of its finest sungura musicians, Tongai Moyo who succumbed to cancer seven years ago on the 15th of October.

Moyo, who was based in Kwekwe, is widely remembered for his unique dressing, dance moves and sungura-rhumba fused sound.

During the peak of his musical career, Dhewa made waves with songs such as Nemumvura Mese, Zvinoita Murudo, Samanyemba, Muchina Muhombe and Ganda Remvura, among others.

Efforts to revive Dhewa’s sound are proving to be big shoes for the flamboyant Peter Moyo who is struggling to match his father’s feat.
