Over 2 400 primary school athletes converged in Chegutu for the annual ball games talent identification sport extravaganza.
The ball games were held under the auspices of the National Association of Primary School Heads (NAPH), Mashonaland West Chapter, and attracted participation by pupils from 17 education districts in Mashonaland West Province.
The games involved basketball, netball, boys and girls soccer, handball, tennis, rugby and volleyball.
NAPH Mashonaland West provincial chairman Mr Moses Mhandu called on corporate partners to consider not only soccer when sponsoring sport but cast the net wider.
A representative of some of the sponsors of the NAPH ball games, Edward Madziro said partnership in sport between schools and corporates breeds mutually beneficial outcomes.
Excelling athletes were chosen to represent the province as individuals or teams at the national finals to be held in Gweru between 3 and 6 July.
