The National Association of Primary school Heads (NAPH) Mashonaland West has honoured its athletes who scooped 15 gold medals at national finals to clinch first position.

The NAPH Mashonaland West executive led by Mr Kufakunesu Rupere presented the winning sports persons and their winning  trophy before stakeholders who include funding partners and parents at a ceremony held at Mhanyame Primary School in Chinhoyi.

Guest of honour at the trophy unveiling ceremony Mr Jim Kadziya, a director in Minister Faber Chidarikire’s office applauded the provincial NAPH executive’s good leadership and implored the winning athletes to take the sport sector as a rewarding one.

Nine of the provincial athletes will be part of the 45 athletes to take part in the COCASA regional games to be held in Harare in May.

At the NAPH track and field events national finals, Mashonaland West garnered 15 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals to clinch first position.
