hospital_.jpgResidents of Mabvuku suburb in Harare are now living in fear following an outbreak of a mysterious disease which they say has claimed four lives in the community.

 

The disease which is affecting adults as well as children has hit Nyamaturi Street in New Mabvuku where four people are reported to have died and 40 others have been affected.

 

The Harare City Council Director of Health Services Dr Stanley Mungofa said in a telephone interview they have dispatched a medical team to investigate the outbreak.

 

The symptoms of the disease are diarrhea, dizziness, vomiting, headaches, coughing and fever.

Residents said the disease outbreak started two weeks ago.

 

When ZBC News crew visited the area, the city’s environmental and health department were on the ground inspecting and gathering information pertaining to the disease.

 

However the officials declined to comment as they said it was still too early to ascertain the cause of the mysterious disease.
