tracy mutinhiri 12-07-11.jpgThe Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Cde Tracy Mutinhiri’s political career hangs in the balance amid latest revelations that she has been absconding from both parliament and party business without due reason.

Cde Mutinhiri’s constituency has since passed a recommendation that she be suspended from holding any position within Zanu PF for the next five years.

Zanu PF Chief Whip, Cde Joram Gumbo said the decision by Mashonaland East Provincial leadership to recall Cde Mutinhiri was not surprising given that she was no longer availing herself for parliamentary business.

Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Rugare Gumbo said the party leadership will procedurally look into the issue before appropriate action is taken.

Asked on whether the expulsion of Cde Mtinhiri by her constituency will affect her legislative role in parliament, Clerk of Parliament, Mr Austin Zvoma said the august house can only take action if her party expels the legislator or if she resigns.

Cde Mtinhiri’s political problems began after people from her constituency accused her of working in cahoots with Zanu PF’s rivals and deviating from the party charter.
