A 30 year old man, Sikhumbuzo Mutinhiri has appeared before a Marondera Magistrate, Miss Blessing Murwisi facing charges of stock theft.
Sikhumbuzo, who is son to Retired Brigadier General Ambrose Mutinhiri was granted US$300 bail on consent.
The state represented by Miss Junior Mugebe alleges that Sikhumbuzo Mutinhiri stole one heifer belonging to a Marondera farmer, Vengesayi Mutumwapavi of Karimba farm.
According to state papers, on the 28th of August this year, Tinashe Dera of Karimba farm discovered that there was a large herd of cattle missing.
It is further understood that on the 25th of September, a heifer strayed back to the herd with a rope around its horns and with fresh brand marks.
It is alleged that Daniel Sachiwo went to Karimba farm and claimed ownership of the heifer and when questioned he indicated that he bought it from Sikhumbuzo.
Sikhumbuzo is expected back in court on the 17th of this month.
