tracy mutinhiri 12-07-11.jpgMarondera East Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Labour and Social services, Cde Tracy Mutinhiri, has been suspended from holding any party position or appointment for the next five years.

Announcing the suspension, Mashonaland East Zanu PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Ray Kaukonde, said the party resolved to suspend Cde Mutinhiri after she was found guilty after allegations of working against her party interest were levelled against her.

The disciplinary committee which handled Cde Mutinhiri’s case was headed by Provincial Vice Chairman, Cde Steven Chiurai, a verdict which was subsequently upheld by the Provincial Management Committee.

On the issue of her farm, Cde Kaukonde said Cde Mutinhiri benefitted from the Agrarian Reform Program like any other Zimbabwean.

However, Zanu PF members from the constituency argued that by having worked against party interests Cde Mutinhiri is supposed to lose the farm as it is the party that has championed the land reform program.

Zanu PF party members recently held a demonstration at Cde Mutinhiri’s farm to denounce her activities.

Cde Kaukonde said the National Commissariate will need to inform the Speaker of Parliament of Cde Mutinhiri’s fate.
