harare-magistrates-court.03.09.10.jpgThe case of CAPS boss and owner of Western Union, Fredrick Mutanda who is facing charges of fraud continued this Wednesday with the presiding magistrate ruling that the court will first deal with an application for refusal of further remand.

The State had indicated that it wanted the court to have an inquiry on alleged interference of State witnesses by Mutanda.

The State also indicated that the accused is in breach of his bail conditions.

The case has continued with the investigating officer testifying that there is reasonable suspicion that Mutanda committed the offence, urging the court to dismiss the application for refusal of further remand.

Mutanda, who is denying the charges, is alleged to have defrauded CAPS of more than US$26 million.
