The Warriors’ preparations for the crucial AFCON 2013 qualifier with Burundi continue to be disturbed by the absence of Noel Kaseke and Knowledge Musona who were still missing from the squad.
Musona, who carries the hopes of the Warriors, was expected to have arrived in Burundi by Tuesday but failed to do so.
With Zimbabwe’s technical team anxiously awaiting the arrival of the ‘Smiling Assassin’, it however emerged that he had failed to depart for Burundi after failure to produce a visa saw him being barred from a Qatar airlines flight in Germany.
Musona is now expected to arrive in Bujumbura just six hours before kick-off.
While Musona is expected to make it on time, it appears the availability of defender Noel Kaseke is now hanging by a shred with revelations that his Cypriot club, AC Omonia is reluctant to release him.
With Kaseke all but out of Wednesday’s encounter, Tapuwa Khumbuyani is expected to fill in the right back position, while Arnold Chaka and Godfrey Moyo are set to partner in the Warriors’ central defence.
Onismor Bhasera is expected to start at left back, with Gumbo expected to field midfield workhorses, Tinashe Nengomasha and Esrom Nyandoro.
Vusa Nyoni is set to play at the left side of midfield with Denver Mukamba, Abbas Amidu and Archiford Gutu set to claim the remaining position on the centre of the park.
While Musa Mnguni is expected to start in front, the million dollar question remains whether Gumbo will be able to gamble in fielding Musona who is expected to only arrive 6 hours before kick-off.
