Bulawayo born and South African based gospel musician, Irene Chimuriwo says gospel music is a powerful vehicle that can be used to promote peace, tolerance and give hope to those in despair.
Speaking to the ZBC News in Harare, Chimuriwo said gospel music plays an important role in healing nations and fostering peace.
The musician recently released her dvd album titled: ‘Zviudze Jesu,’ which carries six tracks among them Zviripasi Peropa, Ida Hama Yako and Chiiko.
The songs were taken off her first and second albums Nguva Yapera and Zviudze Jesu.
Chimuriwo said she was inspired by Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube, Mai Olivia Charamba and Bethani Pasinawako Ngolomi.
Her music is receiving a lot of airplay in the UK, USA, South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and she believes the sky is the limit for her.
