Russian based Warriors striker, Musa Mguni has vowed that the Zimbabwe senior men’s soccer team will emerge victorious when they clash with Burundi in a crunch AFCON 2013 preliminary round qualifier.
Mguni arrived in the country on Friday, boosting the team’s preparations for the Burundi ties.
The lanky forward, who was part of a Warriors practice match with Dynamos, expressed disappointment with the suspension of several players though remaining optimistic that players called to represent the country in Burundi will produce a positive result.
Warriors head coach, Rahman Gumbo refused to talk to this ZBC News crew despite pleas to have the coaches’ views.
Although Gumbo chose to be silent, assistant coach David “Yogi†Mandigora was more accommodating, indicating that he was satisfied with the work they had done with the players that were available for camp.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association Life Vice President, Eddie Mboma Nyatanga has urged players thrown into the deep end, to capitalise on the once in a life time opportunity they have been handed following the suspension of 82 players.
The depleted Warriors team is set to depart for Burundi on Sunday evening.Â
