Zvimba Rural District Council (RDC) has surfaced the greater part of its road network in Murombedzi placing it as a route of choice for many motorists.

Zvimba RDC undertook the road upgrading project at the growth point last year and the infrastructure is now in a superb state.

Besides upgrading the main road at the growth point, the local authority also managed to surface virtually all the key roads within the high density suburb at the growth point, at a time even urban local authorities are struggling to patch potholes.

Zvimba RDC CEO Mr Peter Hlohla attributed the achievement to the responsiveness of rate payers who have embraced council’s call for them to pay rates and help the local authority deliver.

He said Zvimba RDC makes sure the larger chunk of its revenue goes towards projects implementation.

Meanwhile, Murombedzi growth point is poised for growth following the servicing of over 105 commercial stands at the business centre.

Mr Hhlohla said the commercial stands will be allocated after they are fully serviced, including surfacing of the roads.

Demand for services at Murombedzi is envisaged to grow, underpinned by the establishment of a platinum mine in Darwendale by Russian investors.
