The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Cde Joel Biggie Matiza says lack of adequate equipment is affecting speedy construction and rehabilitation of roads in Murehwa.
Addressing stakeholders who gathered at the launch the construction of the Murehwa – Macheke road at Murehwa Centre, Cde Matiza confirmed that the government now has plans to capacitate CMED to provide some of the needed equipment.
“Today is a happy day for the people of Murehwa as it marks the beginning of construction of this key highway. However, lack of adequate machinery is affecting speedy rehabilitation of our roads,” he said.
The 56km Murehwa – Macheke road will be constructed in phases with the project expected to be complete in 3 years time.
