Politicians have described the late Commander of Commanders Retired General Solomon Mujuru as a unifier who had respect and tolerance for diverse political ideas.Deputy Prime Minister Professor Arthur Mutambara described the late Commander of Commanders Retired General Mujuru as a man who strived to see Zimbabwe united. Professor Mutambara called on all Zimbabweans to be inspired by General Mujuru and unite to build the nation.
â€œMujuru was a nation building icon of the liberation struggle, a states man,â€ said Professor Mutambara.
MDC â€“N secretary general, who is also Regional Integration and International Cooperation Minister, Mrs. Priscilla Misihairambwi-Mushonga described the late Mujuru as the Peopleâ€™ General.
â€œHe was a person who gave meaning to the liberation struggle, he was friendly and could associate with everyone,â€ Mrs. Misihairambwi-Mushonga said.
Thousands of people are expected to throng the National Heroes Acre this Saturday to bid farewell to Retired General Solomon Mujuru who died during the early hours of Tuesday.
