The former first lady Grace Mugabe has implored the nation to pray for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership saying his inauguration as the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe is God-given.
Mrs Mugabe made the remarks at the former first family residence’s, the Blue Roof in Borrowdale Brook, Harare.
Addressing mourners gathered at Blue Roof mansion, to pay their condolences following the death of Mbuya Idah Marufu, the former first lady praised President Mnangagwa for demonstrating true character of humanity after the new government intervened to provide a chartered plane to assist her to travel from Singapore and attend the funeral of her mother.
Mrs Mugabe told the gathering that it is high time the Mugabe family bury their differences, mend relations with President Mnangagwa and respect the will of the people who voted him into power.
The remarks by the former first lady were also echoed by her husband and ex-president Robert Mugabe who implored the nation to rally behind President Mnangagwa saying his victory in the July 30 harmonised election legitimised his leadership.
