More than 300 people are feared dead after heavy rains caused massive mudslides in eastern district of Bududa, Uganda.
The mudslide hit three villages in the eastern Bududa district near Mount Elgon, burying many homes.
Government has deployed a rescue team on the ground with aid along with the Red Cross dispatching a team of doctors.
Parts of Uganda and neighbouring Kenya have had unusually high rainfall over the past two months, which normally is a dry period
between rainy seasons and landslides are expected to continue as the rains intensify in the region.
Nearly 50,000 people have been affected in what humanitarian officials describe as the worst rains in 35 years.
