Wife to the late Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to India, Zambia and Austria and also first black ZBC director general, Tirivavi Kangai Mrs Joyce Kangai has died.
She was 62.
Mrs Kangai succumbed to heart failure at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Harare on Tuesday.
Daughter to the late Mrs Rufaro Sibanda and relatives described the late as a mother figure who always wanted to see a happy family.
Mrs Kangai did her education at Chideme Primary School in Buhera and later Goromonzi High School for her secondary before moving to Wardlove.
She marred the late ambassador Kangai in 1976.
She once became chairlady for Zanu PF Women’s League in the United States from 1976 to 1980 when her husband was the Zanu PF representative to the United Nations.
The late Mrs Kangai was a holder of a masters degree in Medical Technology.
Mourners are gathered at house number 103 Good Hope road Westgate and will be buried in Buhera ward 9 today.
She is survived by four children and three grandchildren.
