Members of Parliament have been urged to learn the six official languages of the United Nations (UN) so as to enable them to carry their duties well and represent their constituencies locally and internationally.

Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to Zimbabwe by members of the Zimbabwe-France Friendship Association (ZFFA), the chairman of the Foreign Affairs  Commission in the Parliament of Zimbabwe Cde Kindness Paradza highlighted why it is important for parliamentarians to learn the UN official languages which  are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

The French Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Richard Boidin also offered parliamentarians to come and learn French at the Alliance Francoise.

As globalisation continue to take place, it is therefore imperative for people to be multilingual for easy interaction in all spheres of society.
