The government says the National Competitiveness Bill is set to compliment the ease of doing business initiative to attract foreign direct investment.

In an interview on the sidelines of the National Competitiveness Bill briefing for legislators and the business community, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Cde Chiratidzo Iris Mabuwa said people must not confuse the bill with the Competition Tariff Commission.

She said the bill is meant to come up with a commission which will be mandated to address competitiveness issues regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by captains of industry, and members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Industry and Commerce.
