National Darts Association of Zimbabwe president Meynard Moyo was elected new African Union Sports Council (AUSC) region 5 president at a conference held in Germiston South Africa recently.

Zimbabwean administrators continue to take leadership positions at regional bodies with the latest being Moyo.

Moyo landed 6 votes with Ralph Ludwig of Namibia managing 3.

The AUSC region 5 darts leader Mmoyo said it was an honour to take the leading post pointing to plans to propelling the game to greater heights in the region.

Moyo said the region and continent needs support from governments in order to ensure African nations have a presence globally.

Stephen Mwarindira was voted the new youth tournament director with Cecil Mbofana another Zimbabwean duly elected the new region 5 development coordinator.
