The African Development Bank (AfDB) says most of its Zimfund projects are almost complete and commissioning is set for end of this month.

Most of the projects being undertaken by AfDB under the Zimfund projects are in water and sanitation.

In an interview with the ZBC News on the sidelines of phase two of the projects, Zimfund Manager, Mr Emmanuel Nzabanita said most of the projects are now waiting commissioning while others are 99 percent complete.

Engineer Herbert Nyakutsikwa, who is responsible for water and sanitation, said they have so far replaced a 5km sewage system in Dzivaresekwa, Kuwadzana and Mufakose which is almost complete and is set to easy the issue of burst sewage pipes in these areas.

“This will avert the problem of sewage disposal in our water bodies,” he said.

The Zimfund projects started in 2014 with a view to complement efforts by the City of Harare to address water and sanitation challenges in the capital.
