With just two days before the close of nominations for the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) elections, more candidates are throwing their hats into the ring.
Among these is Charles Mukaronda who is vying for the post of ZOC presidency and has already launched his election manifesto dubbed ‘Vote Charles-a Dawn of a New Era!!’
In an interview with the ZBC News, Mukaronda cites poor corporate governance as one area he would like to correct if elected into office.
He alleges that a superiority and elitist approach has stifled potential for more national associations.
Mukaronda’s nomination brings to four names being cited as vying for the ZOC hot seat where current president Admire Masenda is reportedly seeking re-election while former Zimbabwe Karate Union president Joe Rugwete is said to have also thrown in his name and current vice president Thabani Gonye touted as another candidate.
All the posts in the executive committee will be contested including the two vice presidents, treasurer and seven board members.
