It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Zimbabwean players plying their trade abroad with Ronald Pfumbidzai and Walter Musona on target in the ABSA Premiership action at the weekend.
Zimbabwean players across the Limpopo continued to impress with Pfumbidzai and Musona on target for their teams at the weekend.
The former Caps United player Pfumbidzai ended Bloemfontein Celtics 6-match winless streak with an all important 52nd minute strike which ensured Celtic edged Ajax Cape Town 1-nil.
Victory came as a relief for Celtic who were under pressure going into their contest against Ajax.
Still in South Africa, Musona was on target in Polokwane City’s 2-all draw against Golden Arrows.
Lerato Lamola had opened the scoring for Golden Arrows before Zimbabwean international Musona grabbed an equalizer for Polokwane.
Golden Arrows regained the lead courtesy of Siphelele Magubane before Puleng Tlolane scored an equaliser for Polokwane in injury time.
Still in the ABSA premiership, the biggest encounter of the weekend ended in disappointment for former Warriors captain Willard Katsande as Orlando Pirates claimed a 3-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
A brace by Luvuyo Memela and a Thembinkosi Lorch opener gave Pirates maximum points.
