The reigning Miss Deaf Zimbabwe, Chiedza Hukuimwe is appealing for funds to attend the Miss Deaf World 2017 pageant set for the 18th of next month in the Czech Republic.
Out of the 14 contestants she emerged the winner and silently grabbed the crown to become Miss Deaf 2017 signaling the birth of a new career for the stunning 23 year old beauty.
Although she took home US$8.50 as prize money when she was crowned the queen in March, she remains unfazed and is already looking ahead.
But another boulder has been thrown her way, she needs US$2 900 for visas, accommodation and travelling expenses for her and her companion Madeline Yohane who is one of the pageant’s organisers to participate at the global showcase.
Born in a family of 3 girls, Chiedza is also a tailor and her passion lies in African attires.
She might have hearing and speech impairment, but that is where the impairment ends.
