Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde Apolonia Munzverengwi has visited the people who were injured in the Macheke accident, who are at Marondera Provincial Hospital receiving treatment
The accident claimed 11 lives on the spot.
Cde Munzverengwi, who was accompanied by Uzumba Maramba-Pfungwe Legislator Cde Tichaona Karumazondo, paid her condolences to the bereaved families and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
Of the 16 injured who were brought to Marondera Provincial Hospital only two are still admitted while seven were transferred to Parirenyatwa and Chitungwiza hospitals.
The other seven were treated and discharged.
Police have also released names of seven of the eleven people who died in the accident.
The seven have been identified as Lovemore Mukada (48), Mavis Mapfava, Tonderai Matsika and Amos Gonamombe (70), all of Denga village in Uzumba.
Shelly Mazengera (50) of Karimbika Uzumba, Olivia Mushonga and Fradreck Chipembere of Kasambarare village, Uzumba.
The other four victims who were in the Honda Fit have not yet been identified, according to police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
The seven victims from Uzumba who are all members of Sungano Yevapostori are expected to be buried in their home area on Wednesday (tomorrow).
