Quality and timely service delivery should be the hallmark of the new work ethic for Mashonaland West Province in the new dispensation.

These were the requirements laid out and demanded by Provincial Affairs Minister, Cde Mary Mliswa when she held an inaugural meeting with government departmental heads, legislators and provincial councillors in Chinhoyi.

Cde Mliswa is the first female state minister for the province and is probably the youngest appointee to the post in the province since 1980.

In her maiden address to major stakeholders in Mashonaland West, she said her administration expects public sector officials to deliver quality and timely services to the people and to debunk bureaucratic tendencies and nip corruption in the bud.

Among those who attended the stakeholders meeting was Chinhoyi legislator, Dr Peter Mataruse of the MDC Alliance and Norton legislator, Mr Temba Mliswa, who won on an independent ticket.
