An intriguing feature film titled ‘Mind Games’ which was shot over a ten-day period is set to hit the big screen in May.
The film Mind Game is a collaborative effort between filmmaking couple Thandie and Charles Mawunga.
It is set in modern day Zimbabwe and features renowned actors Dax Jackson and Kevin Hassen.
The film has been showing around the world and recently made it for selection as the best editing feature award in the Stars Hollywood Festival and best editing at the 5 Continents International Film Festival this year.
Its short film adaptation scooped the best actor at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival last year, while it earned the best narrative feature award at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival in New York and was a finalist at the New Nazareth Film Festival in Israel.
Mind Games writer, producer and director Charles said all is in place for the feature film premier in Zimbabwe scheduled for the 31st of May.
The local film industry has not been competing favourably when compared to their regional counterparts with the South African and Nigerian film industry now way advanced.
With more investment Zimbabwe has a capacity to contend among the best as some of the world’s finest actors among them Danai Gurira and Thandie Newton have made it at the highest level.
