The private sector has been urged to work together with the government in issues to do with community development in a partnership that strives to fight hunger and marginalisation of the rural people.
This was said by the Minister of Defence, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa at a handover ceremony of a 6.5 kilometre long fence to Masase High school in Mberengwa West.
The fence was erected by Mimosa Mining company at a cost of $200 000.
Cde Mnangagwa commended the Platinum Mining company for spearheading community development projects that include provision of water, health facilities and education.
He called on other mining companies to emulate Mimosa in complementing government’s development programmes.
Speaking at the same occasion, Zanu-PF’s Chief Whip, who is also Member of Parliament for Mberengwa West constituency, Cde Rugare Gumbo said it is imperative that government and the private sector should complement each other in the intensification of projects that sustain livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Cde Mnangagwa donated a state of the art computer to the headmistress of the school, Mrs Silibasiso Ngwenya while Cde July Moyo also donated another computer to the same school.
