Like real hosts to world football’s powerful football man, Sepp Blatter, the Mighty Warriors squad went on to deliver a vintage performance that saw them dismiss Malawi 8-2.

Rufaro Machingura banged in five goals, while Nokuthula Ndlovu scored a brace. Talent Mandaza scored one.

Midfield maestro, Marjory Nyaumwe said the result is a strong warning for South Africa that times have changed and Zimbabwe’s Mighty Warriors are ready to face them.

Mighty Warriors coach shared optimism going into Tuesday’s match against Mozambique, but his counterpart from Malawi believes his charges still has a chance.

Zimbabwe play Mozambique,while Malawi will square off with Lesotho.

The top two winners progress to the semi finals of the COSAFA Women championships.
