Civil servants have a role to listen to citizens’ view and advance development in the interest of the public by upholding the tenets of good governance.
These were the sentiments shared as the Midlands Province bade farewell to its administrator, Mrs Cecil Chitiyo Moyo who was recently redeployed to Mashonaland West Province.
Various speakers described Mrs Chitiyo as an outstanding civil servant who adhered to good local governance, dedicating her time to the socio-economic development of the Midlands Province.
The gathering conceded the province today speaks of successful implementation of numerous initiatives such as community share ownership trusts and the land reform programme, all thanks to efforts by committed civil servants like Mrs Chitiyo Moyo.
Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde Jason Machaya also expressed gratitude to the former Provincial Administrator for her loyalty, commitment and dedication to duty.
The Provincial Administrator was recently redeployed to Mashonaland West Province after serving in the Midlands Province for more than a decade.
