All is set for the independence celebrations in the Midlands Province with people from all walks of life urged to come in their numbers to celebrate the country’s freedom.

All arrangements are in place for the 37th independence day commemorations with the main provincial celebrations slated for Mkoba Stadium where the Midlands Minister of State, Cde Jason Machaya will deliver the president’s speech.

In a telephone interview, Cde Machaya said the province is more than ready for the Uhuru celebrations and urged the people to flock to the stadium in their numbers and celebrate independence with great patriotism and unity.

When the ZBC News visited Mkoba Stadium this Sunday morning, the army and the police were going through their finally drill paces in preparation for Tuesday.

Colonel George Chitsva, who is the Acting Commander 5 Brigade, expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the 37th independence celebrations in the province and called on people to come and enjoy entertainment from uniformed forces.

Besides the main Midlands provincial celebrations at Mkoba Stadium, there are also going to be celebrations in all the eight districts in the province.
