Messengers of court have been urged to conduct their business in an ethical manner in order to regain the confidence from the public.

At a time government has stepped up efforts to stamp out corruption, messengers of court have also been called upon to sing from the same hymn book.

The message came through during an association of messengers of court annual general meeting in Nyanga.

Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Retired Major General Happyton Bonyongwe said in the delivery of justice messengers of court are critical as they define the ministry’s image.

There is consensus that messengers of court have to be well versed with the law in order for them to be able to carry out their tasks diligently.

There have been numerous reports in the media where a grim picture of messengers of court has been painted, an image that the association is seeking to rectify.
