Employers have embraced mental health awareness campaigns at workplaces to increase production.

Employers are concerned over the huge rise in cases of mental health at workplaces prompting authorities to come up with a clear cut policy on strategies to stamp out the problem.

Institute of People’s Management in Zimbabwe (IPMZ) vice president Mrs Precious Nyika told the ZBC News on the sidelines of a fund raising ceremony for the awareness campaign that mental health at workplaces is leading to a drop in production.

“There is always the need to embrace the systems to increase production,” he said.

The medical fraternity is therefore committed to work with corporates on the awareness campaigns said a mental health specialist Dr Sacrifice Chirisa.

Dr Chirisa said; “We need to increase the uptake of the facilities for the benefit of industry”.

Several companies in key productive sectors have also endorsed the campaigns thereby embarking on resource mobilisation systems.
