Police say the proposed MDC-T rally scheduled for this Saturday at the Glamis Arena in Harare is unsanctioned.
Police spokesman, Sergeant Tapiwa Chivende said law enforcement agents will be on alert, adding that those who will defy the order will face the full wrath of the law.
Sergeant Chivende warned the MDC-T party officials and the public against attending the unsanctioned rally.
The warning by the police follows some media reports that the MDC-T party is proposing to defy a police directive to stop the political rally.
“There have been some media reports that there is going to be an MDC-T rally at the Glamis stadium on Saturday 19 March 2011. Zimbabwe is enjoying peace, hence there is no need to hold a peace rally…,†said Sergeant Chivende.
The MDC-T party has recently been cited as being at the forefront of causing violence.
Over the weekend, Zanu PF Chairman for DCC6, Cde Joshua Gore was brutally assaulted by suspected MDC-T youths in Harare.
