mdc logo.jpgMazowe Central House of Assembly Member, Mr. Shepherd Mushonga has come under heavy criticism from people of his constituency who are accusing him of abandoning the people he claims to represent.

Mazowe Central constituency which used to boast of being the hub of agriculture in Mashonaland Central province over the years, has fallen on hard times since Mr. Mushonga took office.

People in the constituency say Mr. Mushonga has not spearheaded any development projects since 2008.

The people in the constituency told ZBC News that since 2008, education, health, mining and agriculture ventures have dropped due to lack of support, while some claimed that Mr. Mushonga is not even coming to the people who voted for him.

Meanwhile, Zanu PF national youth league deputy secretary for health, Cde Thabeth Kanengoni who hails from the area has taken a lead in reviving the constituency.

Apart from mobilising agricultural inputs, medical drugs and school fees for the disadvantaged children, Cde Kanengoni mobilised doctors to provide free treatment to people in the constituency.

Several other people interviewed by ZBC News at various districts in the constituency castigated the MDC-T MP saying they are fed up with his empty promises.

Despite being given US$50 000 as Constituency Development Fund, there is nothing to show for it in Mazowe Central, with reports indicating that the bulk of the money was abused.
