Mberengwa South legislator Cde Alum Mpofu held an inaugural meeting with 10 councillors as well as party leadership at Mataga Growth Point to outline a five year development plan that will transform the constituency.

The meeting sought to spell out the five year constituency development plan as well as align the constituency plans to the party’s 2018 campaign manifesto.

Area legislator Cde Mpofu said it is a significant meeting that comes after their swearing in which officially marks their days in office.

“As a constituency we need to see how our manifesto can dovetail into the party’s manifesto. We have our own priority projects that we intend to implement,” he said.

Cde Mpofu said he had to meet councillors as they are a vehicle for development.

Some of the priority projects include revamping irrigation schemes to enhance food security at household level as well as improving infrastructure such as schools and health centers.

On the positive, Mberengwa South has vast human capital scattered across the country which ought to contribute to the development of the area.
