mbada final.jpgRelegation haunted clubs are eyeing glory in this weekend’s Mbada Diamonds Cup which is their only realistic chance of reaping any silverware this season.

Action in the country’s richest trophy – the Mbada Diamonds Cup – enters the quarter final stage this weekend with three relegation haunted clubs Kiglon, Shooting Stars and Zimbabwe Saints still in the hunt.

Two of the traditional football giants Highlanders and CAPS United were booted out during the first round of the tournament.

What is certain is that one of the teams facing relegation will book a semi-final date as Kiglon clash with Zimbabwe Saints “Chauya Chikwata” at Chishamiso Stadium in Hippo Valley on Saturday.

In another quarter-final match, Moneybags FC Platinum play Gunners “Chando Kupisa”  at the Colliery in Hwange on the same day.

Sunday will see the other two matches with Shooting Stars who are one place off the bottom of the log facing Dynamos at Maglas Stadium in Zvishavane, while the “Mighty Bulls”  Motor-Action play “ Tambawakaguta Boys” Blue Ribbon at Torwood Stadium in Redcliff.
