Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Deputy Minister, responsible for cropping, Cde Davis Marapira officially opened the Mazowe Valley Agriculture Show in Bindura amid calls for farmers to deliver their produce to the Grain Marketing Board.

The 2017 Mazowe Valley Agricultural Show has witnessed a record number of exhibitors as compared to previous years with 65 corporate companies and 185 small scale farmers participating.

Officially opening the show, Cde Marapira said government will continue to prioritise the mechanisation programme in its quest to improve agricultural productivity.

Mazowe Valley Agricultural Show Society chairman, Mr Christopher Chingwaru expressed appreciation at the continued growth of the provincial agriculture showcase.

Meanwhile, several companies and individual farmers have walked away with various prizes at this year’s Mazowe Valley Agricultural Show.

Freda Rebecca Mine were judged the overall show winners followed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police with the Rural Electrification Fund coming third.
