The Zanu PF Matabeleland South Women’s League has urged its members to turn out in their numbers for the ongoing biometric voter registration exercise so that they are able to exercise their democratic right in the forthcoming harmonised elections.
This came out during the distribution of 3 000 chicks sourced by the Secretary for Women’s League Dr Grace Mugabe for the wing’s members.
In a bid to economically empower women and youths in Matabeleland South, the Zanu PF Women’s League today distributed 3000 chicks which will be shared amongst 119 groups in the province.
However for women to continue benefiting from Zanu PF’s people centred policies and programmes it is critical for them to register to vote under the ongoing exercise noted the provincial Women’s League chairperson Cde Sister Bhebhe.
The provincial Women’s League leadership further thanked the First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe for the chicken rearing project saying they will ensure that it is a success.
Under the programme each group comprising of at least four members will receive a batch of 25 chicks.
Apart from the chicken rearing project, women in the province have embraced the fish farming programme introduced by government this year while cattle fattening projects supported by the Ministry of Agriculture have transformed the lives of many rural women in the province.
