The Minister of State for Matabeleland South, Ambassador Aaron Maboyi Ncube has urged heads of government departments, development partners and other stakeholders working in the province to deliver their responsibilities with distinction for the benefit of local citizens.

In his maiden speech at the Provincial Development Committee (PDC) meeting held in Gwanda today, Ambassador Ncube spoke extensively about the plight of rural communities in the province saying stakeholders should redouble their efforts in uplifting the people’s standards of living.

The agenda of non-governmental organisations should not be questionable as their role is to compliment government efforts in promoting development, was the reminder by Ambassador Ncube.

Provincial development committee members briefed Minister Ncube about their various responsibilities and the challenges affecting their operations.

Local authorities complained that they are poorly resourced to deliver services effectively.

Other challenges faced by government departments and parastatals include high staff turnover, mobility problems, shortage of office space and accommodation facilities among others.
