The Presidential Youth interface rally scheduled for Friday, 14 July at Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane has  been postponed.

This was revealed at the Zanu PF Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Lupane this afternoon.

The postponement of Presidential Youth Interface rally  has been necessitated by the fact that the First Secretary of the party, President Robert Mugabe has other engagements.

Zanu PF Youth Affairs deputy secretary, Cde Mpehleyabo Malinga said the secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Kudzai Chipanga will announce the new date for the rally.

Cde Malinga expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation from the government departments in Matabeleland North Province as well as the preparations that have been made so far.

“The rally might be postponed by a day or two or three, but you will be advised in due course on the new arrangements. However, do not lose hope comrades, keep the spirit because the Lupane rally will be the best,” he said.

The province has expressed readiness to host the rally, with preparations progressing well, according to delegates who attended the meeting.

The Youth Interface rally will be preceded by a clean-up campaign at Lupane district centre as well as a carnival walk from Jotsholo to Lupane centre.

Meanwhile, the leadership has met with youths in all the seven districts of the province to discuss the issues they want presented to the First Secretary, with the final report expected to be sent to the relevant authorities during the week.
