Matabeleland North Province is engaging Singapore investors to explore business opportunities being availed under the Victoria Falls Special Economic Zone.
Matabeleland North Minister of State, Ambassador Cain Mathema, who recently held a meeting with the South African-based Singapore High Commissioner, Mr Chua Thai-Keong is upbeat the interests shown by the diplomat and his team will result in actual investments.
Ambassador Mathema said the province welcomes investments from the Asian country and encouraged the Singaporean investors to explore the vast opportunities in mining, leather industry, energy and tourism sectors.
According to the government official, the province is also exploring other avenues to try and lure investors to participate in many other economic activities.
The government designated Victoria Falls as a special economic zone as part of the broader efforts to lure investors and increase foreign direct investment into the country.
