Masvingo Province has launched its branding project expected to attract investors, in line with the national branding process meant to market Brand Zimbabwe.

The process to create the Masvingo brand started in March this year, with various stakeholders coming together for the project.

The launch of Brand Masvingo includes the creation of a website, brochure, video and the provincial brand statement which all highlight the business opportunities in the province.

Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Josiah Hungwe urged the people of Masvingo to tap into the business opportunities.

“We want the people of Masvingo to benefit from their resources. We must realise that we can choose to be poor people or people of substance,” he said.

The Infrastructural Development Bank of Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, Mr Thomas Sakala who attended the launch said various departments in the province need to work efficiently to ensure that they make business easier for investors.

He said where necessary, experts should be brought in to ensure projects are skillfully implemented.

“We should not take forever when we do some of these projects. Let’s learn to coordinate when we do our things. Let’s bring in the experts where necessary. Ministries should realise that they cannot do some of the work and bring in those who can, those with the technical knowhow,” Mr Sakala said.

Masvingo Province has numerous business opportunities in the agriculture, mining and tourism sectors.
